Heavy Equipment Mechanic
General:
Repair and maintain a variety of complex drilling equipment, tools, and other heavy equipment involving mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and electrical systems. Service is primarily performed at our facility; however 20% of the time will be running service calls.
Requirements:

• Must be able to perform a variety of skilled duties which may involve inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on heavy equipment
• Inspect service  and repair equipment as required
• Must be able to operate equipment such as booms, forklifts, compressors, hydraulic and electrical tools and equipment, and all other job related tools and equipment
• Meet all company, governmental and equipment related safety requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or authorized personnel

Mandatory Requirements:

• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical problems and successfully repair the equipment.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices
• Requires the ability to lift, push or pull and move up to 70 pounds and must be capable of climbing, kneeling, twisting and bending in a varied environment
• Must be dependable and report to work on time
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and yard personnel
• Must exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment/diesel/hydraulic mechanic
• Provide own tools and possess ability to safely and effectively use them

Preferred:

• Associates, Certification or Technical degree in mechanical, machining, manufacturing or related area.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 to 10 years’ or job related experience
